As with most lakes, there are a few things to remember about swimming
in Upper Lead Mountain pond:
- The lake is rocky, so...
- NO DIVING!! This not only includes the dock and lakeshore, but also
partially submerged rocks in the lake and the boats. Stay-tuned, we may be
adding an off shore float in the future!
- Bring your water shoes / surf-walkers. Not only does this prevent cut
and bruised feet but also helps prevent slipping on the bottom.
- Be careful when swimming that a rock doesn't "jump in your way".
- Always watch children and avoid swimming alone.
2. Small Sunfish have been known to nibble toes, so...
- So nothing, it doesn't hurt so don't freak-out
3. If you would rather, there small sand beaches at the northern end
of the lake and another near the boat launch...
- These are common areas, meaning for common use of camp owners and renters
- not open to the public. The beaches can be accessed by boat or by road.
